The Cross-Table Lateral View of the hip, also known as the Axiolateral Inferosuperior Projection or Danelius-Miller View, is a specialized radiographic technique used primarily in trauma cases to assess the hip joint, femoral head and neck, and acetabulum without moving the affected leg.

In this view, the patient lies supine with the affected leg extended and kept in a neutral or slightly internally rotated position, if tolerated. The unaffected leg is elevated and flexed out of the way. A cassette or digital detector is positioned vertically on the lateral side of the hip, parallel to the femoral neck. The X-ray beam is directed horizontally from the medial side of the hip, perpendicular to the femoral neck and image receptor.

This view provides a true lateral image of the proximal femur and hip joint, making it essential for detecting femoral neck fractures, hip dislocations, and for evaluating prosthesis alignment post-surgery. It is commonly paired with an AP pelvis view for comprehensive hip assessment in emergency and orthopedic settings.
